REVEAL COVER OF FUGAZI’S ‘I’M SO TIRED’
SET TO PERFORM ON THE JOHN PEEL STAGE AT GLASTONBURY

Debut album, A Dream Outside, out 15th June Transgressive Records

5/5 – DIY Magazine
8/10 – NME

With the release of their debut album A Dream Outside only a matter of weeks away, North London group Gengahr are pleased to share their cover of Fugazi’s ‘I’m So Tired’

Recorded and mixed in a day over at Urchin Studios, the North London band have put a different spin on the track, replacing it’s gloriously stripped back and sombre piano with a full band set up – and climaxing with something of a trademark solo from virtuoso guitarist John Victor.

Explaining why they chose the track, frontman Felix Bushe offered the following insight:

“Fugazi was a group that really influenced us early on when we started playing in bands. The song is a real favourite of ours and a bit of a hidden gem. There’s very little instrumentation on the original so we had a lot of freedom to elaborate.”

The band are also pleased to announce that having played for BBC Introducing in 2014, they will be returning to Glastonbury this year to perform on the John Peel stage.

While they bashfully describe their successes to date as “happy accidents”, there’s clearly something greater at work behind Gengahr’s rise. A timelessness that has captured the hearts of all they’ve come into contact with, last year’s signing to independent Transgressive and the upcoming release of their debut album A Dream Outside – awarded five stars by DIY magazine – are just the start. Comparisons to Radiohead are anything but reductive; there is sure to be a similarly twisting and enormous path ahead of this hypnotic North London quartet.
