Pillow Person, the new solo project of Sarah Jones, announces the release of her debut single, “Go Ahead”. A slice of addictively bouncy summer pop, the track will be available on 19th August 2016 via Moshi Moshi Records, with further singles to follow.
After playing in other bands including Hot Chip – the time has come for Jones to strike out on her own. “This song actually came to me in a dream,” she explains, of“Go Ahead”. “I woke up and sang it into my phone. You know those stories about the Beatles doing this (but not into a phone, obviously)? Well, I never thought something so cheesy would ever happen to me. But it did.”
The accompanying video was directed by Sarah Jones & Dscreet and was filmed in Melbourne, Australia whilst on a day off from touring with Hot Chip. The film features FX by Barry Murphy and Hot Rod. Donuts and Burnouts are thanks to FatGMH. Watch the video exclusively on i-D Magazine’s website HERE
“Go Ahead” is backed by two B-sides: a Spanish language version of the song featuring vocals from Sarah Suñé, as well as a completely different new track in the shape of “In My Game.”
