Hot Chip
Share yunè pinku remix of “Fire of Mercy”
Upcoming live shows including London’s Drumsheds
Following on from the release of Hot Chip’s latest single “Fire of Mercy” featuring Malaysian-Irish producer and songwriter yunè pinku, pinku now, shares her glorious remix of the song transforming the anxious joy of the original into an aching daydream of a party jam. yunè takes the lead vocals this time, her words & sighs woven around snippets of Joe & Alexis all undercut by a driving skittering beat.
With the original version infusing this truly emotionally charged output, the remix shadows that emphasis on the vocals whilst enhancing this playful atmosphere built on the piercing textures and the immersive ambience. The powerful beats and the colliding vocal cut-ups all help with this moving and fierce remix.
pinku says of her remix: “After featuring on the original version, it was really cool to get the opportunity to reimagine the track in a different way. Hot Chip are such icons within the electronic space – it’s been a huge pleasure to be able to collaborate in this way with them.”
Hot Chip added: “yunè pinku was a delight to work with in the studio on Fire of Mercy and other tunes we were jamming on, and we’re so pleased she’s turned in this banger of a remix on top of the collaboration!”
Hot Chip will headline London’s Drumsheds, the brand new 15,000 capacity venuefrom the team behind Printworks later this month.
