It’s that time once again, as the countdown to the end of 2015 quickly approaches we take a personal look back on familiar names, features and musicians’ best releases of the past 12 months. Circuit Sweet will be hosting takeovers from the featured artists of the site with their personal top 5 releases of the year.
Continuing our annual end of year tradition we let our favourites take over the site to tell us the records that have made their end of year lists, their favourite events/gigs and what we can look forward to from them next year.

Our next and one of the last take overs of this year, we hand over the site to another local band who are one of the best acts about- Worcester duo A Werewolf! The duo have had another successful year with their sophomore album release, Bigger Than The Beatles And Godzilla Combined, alongside numerous tours and captivating live shows. We predict even bigger things for this pair who provide a frantic orchestration mixed with Zach Hill Esque Drums and a typhoon of unruly math and ever changing time signatures. We hand over to both Zach and Niall to find out more about their year in music.
As there are two of us we will give you each our 5 favourite releases of this year!
It must be stressed these are in no particular order, and we recommend if you have not listened to the records you do.
Niall’s 5;
i. Birds In Row – Personal War
ii. Kendrick Lamer – To Pimp A Butterfly
iii. Leftover Crack – Constructs Of The State
iv. Loma Prieta – I.V.
v. Giraffes? Giraffes! – SpazzMaster
Zack’s 5;
i. Sleater-Kinney – No Cities To Love
ii. Kendrick Lamer – To Pimp A Butterfly

Best show this year and why?
There have been so many amazing shows this year, we have been very lucky to play with some of our favourites bands such as; Birds In Row and A Wilhelm Scream to name a few. However the best show would be at JT Soar in Nottingham with those down right awesome chaps in Alright The Captain along with Steve Strong and the sorely missed 100 Onces. It was an amazing show to play with such a great atmosphere.
Best gig attended and why?
Niall;
Dead City Riot – The Red Lion, Bristol. Those guys kick ass, I have had the pleasure of touring America with them in 2014 and they always put on a great show and this was no different.
Highlights of the year
Getting to play as much as we do with some many great bands is always a highlight. But our first trip as a band to Europe was a pretty bif highlight.
Artist / band to watch for 2016
We played a few dates in November with Toy Mountains who have a great sounds and I think 2016 is going to be a fruitful year for those guys.
Plans for the New Year.
Lots of touring with some of best friends and favourite bands including; Alright the Captain / Steve Strong / FoxPunch / The Harry Macintosh Project / Boycott The Baptist / Toy Mountains. A new EP out in February and hopefully a debut full length.
A huge thank you to Zack and Niall, always a pleasure looking forward to getting our A Werewolf! vinyl!
