June 27th, Nottingham’s ex-fruit and vegetable warehouse turned DIY music venue, opened it’s doors to an evening of talented live music. With the line-up for the evening picked from a hat, Aeroplane Flies High were first to take to the floor and instantly captivated the crowd with their brooding intensity, their entire set was massive on all terms, engaging, filthy riffs, hooks and feedback and nothing but hard hitting grunge.

Next up and all the way from Exeter, Chiyoda Ku, the young Math Rock trio gave a passionate performance, with a set full of stop start percussion, alternating time signatures and tempo and illustrious riffs. Effortlessly fusing their experimental influences and so easily changing the direction of their set, from a more melodic progression to earth shattering heavy!

Following the fresh Exeter trio, Hereford/Bristol duo Aulos eliminated their set. Their first Nottingham appearance in almost 2 years. Now with added hip-hop elements, the pair provided a hard hitting eminent set mixed with captivating elements within each track played.

And finally closing the evening with what can only be described as a Fugazi-esque set, Belgium’s Needle And The Pain Reaction. An energetic, captivating set and one that made sure the listener moved.
