As the countdown to the end of 2013 quickly approaches we take a personal look back on familiar names, features and musicians’ best releases of the past 12 months. Circuit Sweet will be featuring the featured artists of the site with their personal top 5 releases of the year.
The past 12 months truly has been an incredible year for releases, hard to follow last year in the records produced but this year has uncovered exceptional talent- most of which discovered, promoted and featured right here on this site.
In our end of year special we let our favorites take over the site to tell us the records that have made their end of year lists, their favorite events/gigs and what we can look forward to from them next year.
Continuing our Rad Releases feature are a regular name to Circuit Sweet since our first introducing feature back in 2011. The South West London quartet Killington Fall take over the site to tell us their best releases of the past 12 months. This year was a significant year for the band as they reunited for a much needed tour following a hiatus. We were thrilled to announce the band had plans to return to the live scene and to their adoring fans and we had a fantastic interview with the band which you can find here. The instrumental and incredibly powerful 4 piece consists of Cameron Stewart – Guitar/Vocals/Keys, James Simpson – Drums/Vocals, Max Templer – Guitar and Patrick Jordan on Bass.
2013’s been an interesting year for us in Killington Fall – we managed to get our act together, get in the same country as each other, rehearse and do a short tour which was super fun, but aside from that short period we’ve sadly not been together a lot which means our lists for favourite albums are very different and our plans for 2014 vary a lot! One thing we could agree on was that our show in Leeds at the Packhorse was pretty special playing with our buddies The Disraeli Gears, Antibang and Unwave – all of whom you should check out. Here’s our individual lists otherwise.
