Release ‘Rupert Giles’ single via Heist or Hit
Fuzzy Manchester quartet cruush release new single ‘Rupert Giles’ via Heist or Hit (Westside Cowboy, Her’s, Nature TV) and announce a special double-A vinyl release for early 2026.
Updating their trademark hazy sound to something a little brighter, bolder, and more solid, cruush embark on their new phase with intentionality at the core – trialling producers, stripping the old sound for parts, and arriving at tracks that are purposely more direct. Allied to this is a perkier presentation – taking in and celebrating a ‘90s MTV’ style, timely, given the recent news of the purely music focused TV channels in their stable’s demise.
This deliberate approach has led to a formidable new single – which came together naturally once their minds were focused:
“On a writing retreat to Wales we took a sunrise hike up Penygader. We listened to nothing but Neil Young, Brownhorse, and the Van Halen song ‘Panama’. We were sitting by this lake at 6am, with the sun rising, listening to it and all felt well. We knew we had a great song written, we were all sleep deprived and sweaty, the stars were aligning.”
cruush are back with their consuming sound and their ability to produce these intoxicating landscapes filled with melancholic melodies, experimental effects and a lyrical romanticism that stays with you.
Following the release of ‘Rupert Giles’ and its atmospheric video cruush have an exciting live plot lined-up for the rest of 2025 and into 2026.
