The Haunted Youth Returns With New Single “Into You”

Out Now on Mayway Records

Belgian’s finest indie pop export, The Haunted Youth have returned with their evocative new single “Into You”, which is out now on Mayway Records.

Lovelorn yet strangely upbeat, ‘Into You’ mixes the atmospherics of goth-adjacent bands like the Cure and Depeche Mode with the guitar driven power pop of acts like The Radio Dept. and The Pains of Being Pure at Heart.

The song is about not being able to be with your sweetheart, and at the same time not being able to be without them” singer Joachim explains. “It’s about finding a balance between yourself as an individual and your relationship.”

A sense of euphoria is elevated by the bright synth tones and the immense looping qualities that dazzle through the melodic movement of this composition. Despite the intoxicating drive of the synth cadence, the delicate lyrics provide this ultimate contrast to that initial feeling that exudes from the warmth of the tonalities. Immersive lyrics touch on raw attributes and bring an emotional voyage to set sail through the electronic emphasis.

Although the synth sounds resonate with an 80’s classic and the lead guitar whaling this impressive rhythm that feels like an epic guitar solo, The Haunted Youth has very much taken the best qualities from a classic track and reinvented this atmospherical landscape to bring something that resonates innovation and a contemporary appeal. When the exploration ends, you long to be in the grandeur of the passages and the sweeter vocal harmonies once more.

The primary vehicle of songwriter and misfit rock star, Joachim Liebens, The Haunted Youth have been a critically acclaimed part of Belgian’s alternative music scene since first emerging in 2021. They were quickly signed to Mayway and they released a critically acclaimed debut album, ‘Dawn of the Freak’ in 2022.

Since then they’re headlined shows all across Europe and graced the stages of many big name festivals including Iceland Airwaves, Lowlands, Best Kept Secret, Rock Werchter, Pukkelpop and Montreux Jazz. With more new music to come The Haunted Youth look set to go from strength-to-strength.
