Release New Single “I Don’t Feel“
Bristol post-punk specialists Saloon Dion share frenetic new effort ‘I Don’t Feel’, out now via Mucker Records.
Marking the first reveal from their forthcoming debut EP arriving later this year, ‘I Don’t Feel’ incorporates the band’s groove-laden beats and bass riffs, often compared to the Happy Mondays, Beastie Boys and Gang of Four, and follows a flurry of early releases on tastemaker labels Nice Swan Records and Permanent Creeps.
Saloon Dion are ready to impress on every level going, this immense and raucous tonality kicks off the tracks proceedings and starts to sculpt the mighty landscape. The distorted rhythm feeds in the boisterous yet dynamic drum shuffles and the bass then weaves into the world, this soundscape already feels heavy, and packed and then the vocal notes enter and add this robust shift to the power. Saloon Dion captures this authenticity within the real raw emotion hyped throughout the composition and their intelligent anger that ruptures within the melodies and the impressive atmosphere.
Of the new track, the Bristol natives explained. “‘I Don’t Feel’ is a song about being reluctant to seek help from others. What it isn’t, is a song about having no feeling, but more of choosing what to feel and when to feel it. It speaks of the barriers we all put up to protect ourselves, no matter the damage they may do in the long run”.
A handshake is the first impression that we make with most people, and Saloon Dion are experts in the area. Their accompanying music video, created by Clump Collective, shows the band grasping their personal greeting issues with both hands (or should it just be one?), taking part in a handshake class. A masterclass in human interaction, this band demonstrates a firm grip on social commentary with a video that will have you coming back repeatedly for your lesson in social etiquette.
