The band will appear on Later…With Jools Holland this Saturday (8th Oct) ahead of the release of their third album Here Is Everything next Friday (14th Oct).

The band recently released single ‘This Love’ which you can listen to below.

Juliette Jackson on This Love“I was shocked by the new depths of love you can find for your baby. And the love you can feel for a partner who selflessly helps you through the darkest and strangest times of your life. Someone who will literally hold a pot for you to piss in after a caesarean section.”

This Love is the most reflective and restrained offering from the new album to date. Taut and hypnotic, it slinks, bobs, and weaves at a subdued canter, almost at odds with the notorious euphoria and jaunty knockout punches that The Big Moon tend to throw. But it’s a song where the words do most of the heavy lifting, with Jules reflecting on new discoveries and the unexpected surprises of life as a new mother.

The buoyant gentle passages somewhat capture a feeling of melancholy within the melodic and sweeter upbeat infliction, resonating with such stirring emotion found in Jules’ expressive vocal notes and the complex intimate lyrics. The tonality carries a familiar warmth as the journey twists and turns.

Like so many records landing in store and on streaming services right now, Here Is Everything was conceived during the weight and worry of lockdown in a pandemic. Worlds were turned upside down and inside out. Lives became seismically different, whilst every day a carbon copy of the last. So, whilst Covid pulled the duvet tightly up over our heads, it was also the unlikely backdrop to welcoming new life. Vocalist Jules might have started lockdown teaching fans how to play guitar on Zoom to help pay the rent, but she ended it as mother to a super little human being.

Here is Everything documents the arrival of that baby in real time, and the simultaneous arrival of a new mother, full of excitement and fear.  Meanwhile, the rest of the band doubled-down in the studio, taking Jules’ embryonic song frameworks and stepping forward as one, revelling in an innate, giddy togetherness and with a clutch of genuinely fantastic tunes.

Here Is Everything was mostly self-produced, with the expert guidance and expertise of co-producers CECIL (Self Esteem, Jehnny Beth, PJ Harvey) and the Grammy Award winning producer Ben Allen (Gnarls Barkley, Deer Hunter, and the producer of Walking Like We Do).
