Carriers share uplifting new single “Heaven’s People”
Debut LP out 23rd August
Carriers are sharing “Heaven’s People,” the latest single from their debut album, Now Is The Time For Loving Me, Yourself & Everyone Else.
The track premiered via Atwood Magazine where the band’s Curt Kiser detailed, “I wrote this song one winter after moving into a new apartment. This was the first place I lived alone and was able to make music without disturbing anyone. It was a very freeing experience. I started singing this song one night as a way of expressing the memory of my grandfather and the impact he had on my life. It’s me reflecting on my own life and the joy I have in being able to make music and sing about things that matter to me.”
Something of a best-kept secret in their native Cincinnati, Carriers is set to break out in 2019 having already been tipped by Sharon Van Etten in the notes of her acclaimed LP Remind Me Tomorrow as Recommended Listening.
Now Is The Time For Loving Me, Yourself & Everyone Else features drumming/percussion on every track from The National’s Bryan Devendorf and was produced by John Curley of The Afghan Whigs. Here’s a fun snippet of Bryan and Curt jamming a few weeks back.
The LP is preceded by “Make It Right” and “Patience” which was premiered in an Origins piece with Consequence of Sound who noted, “with a grande, neo-psychedelia take on Americana akin to The War on Drugs, the song sweeps along like an old drop-top on a highway.”
The track was subsequently added to Spotify’s Fresh Finds playlist. “Make It Right” premiered via The Talkhouse with a write-up from Curley.
