Some Bodies

Release surreal new video HERE

Bristol boys Some Bodies have returned with their brand new video for ‘TV Show’, out now via Funnel Music.

A surreal VHS fuzzed-out piece which features an array of colorful characters and one iconic dog. A beautifully constructed example of their songwriting craftsmanship, ‘TV Show’ utilized a killer krautrock riff that effortlessly intertwines with ethereal dream-pop breakdowns.

Of the track guitarist and writer Fred Hickey tells us “TV Show is a pretty obvious song thematically. It’s a lot less cryptic than most tunes we do; with fairly brazen lyrics. It’s observing the weaponisation of trivial gestures in the pursuit of some strange fame.Features of being a normal nice person are now worn like badges of honour and buying a coffee is worthy of screaming from the digital rooftops. At the time we wrote it the world really felt like a big casting call with the allure of shiny stardom causing us all to scratch at the stars. I guess we just turned that into a video. There’s no rhyme or reason as to why the characters in the video are doing what they’re doing because it doesn’t seem like there’s a good reason for us all to be doing it in the “real” world.”

Recorded by Stew Jackson at the legendary Rockfield Studios, new material captures the gloriously crafted indie-pop that at times feels vintage in its presentation but Some Bodies have taken everything they know from these timeless eras and twisted them into something quite unique. In a similar fashion to bands like Foxygen or The Lemon Twigs, their music aptly reflects this generation’s sentimentality for the past and for escapism.

Starting to make some waves locally in Bristol, the band have recently shared stages with the likes of FUR, Champagne Superchillin and Sugar Candy Mountain, played Liverpool Sound City and their first London shows include those for Huw Stephens and George Godfrey.
