Circuit Sweet Interview, Feature, News

December 30, 2018

It’s that time once again, as the countdown to the end of 2018 rapidly approaches we take a personal look back on familiar names, features and musicians’ best releases of the past 12 months. In what has been another crazy year of highs and lows- it’s the releases that have pulled a lot of people through the year. Now in it’s 8th year, Circuit Sweet will be hosting takeovers from the featured artists/musicians/labels and promoters of the site with their personal top releases of the year.

As we near the end of our annual end of year tradition; we let our favourites take over the site to tell us the records that have made their end of year lists. Telling us their favourite events/gigs and what we can look forward to from them next year.

Our next take over comes from the loveable Liverpool instrumental post rock band Kusanagi. Following on from last year’s outstanding second full length Aeon, the band have continued to plug the release and tour relentlessly across the UK throughout the year. We hand over to Dan of Kusanagi  to see what records have been most loved in 2018 for him and the band…

Top 5 albums

Boss Keloid – Melted on the inch

A Great mix of stoner, prog, doom metal with an almost folky feel at times.Wigans Keliod were awesome at rekoner festival.Brilliant modern metal band.

High on Fire – Electric Messiah

All the Riffs, quality album, top band

Behemoth – I loved You at Your Darkest

A brilliant album mixing a lot of modern metal with a black metal twist, Dark and edgy. I was going to choose this album or the new Deafheaven album, but I found this more interesting.

Sumac – Love in Shadow

Just crushingly heavy, cool and a brilliant album and band.

A Great blend of black metal and blues, great band.
