& Share New Single “Balls” + Tour Dates

The ever-incredible HMS Morris are certainly calling 2023 their own. After releasing some of the most imaginative arrangements of the year, the band are now ready to deliver their electrifying new album “Dollar Lizard Money Zombie” which will be released later this month via Bubblewrap Collective.

HMS Morris are a bilingual, award-winning, female-fronted art-rock four-piece from Cardiff, Wales. Supported by the esteemed Bubblewrap Collective (Georgia Ruth, Boy Azooga, Buzzard Buzzard Buzzzard, Sweet Baboo), they’ve already released two critically acclaimed albums, ‘Interior Design‘ and ‘Inspirational Talks,’ both Welsh Music Prize nominees and variously described as ‘Innovative, forward thinking pop music’ (Earthly Pleasures), ‘strange and beautiful music’ (Electronic Sound) and a ‘multi-dimensional sound that traipses across hitherto unexplored regions of sound’ (Clash)’. They’ve earned a reputation for their innovative and multi-dimensional sound that pushes boundaries and explores uncharted territories.

Now, they are gearing up for the highly anticipated release of their third studio album, ‘Dollar Lizard Money Zombie,‘ which will be released on September 15th. The album is described as a playful repudiation of the worldview that reduces 99% of us to braindead money zombies, labouring for the glorious empires of a few giant dollar lizards. It is the first HMS album to feature Billy Morley and Iestyn Huw Jones on guitar and drums, and ranges from 50s cowboy sweetness to electro-metal madness, from rambling acoustic prog to the tightest of synth-pop ditties. The album takes listeners on a thought-provoking journey, infused with the band’s signature wit and humour, showcasing their ability to blend profound introspection with lighthearted storytelling.

Their mesmerising live performances have delighted audiences across the globe, gracing renowned festivals like Green Man, Glastonbury, Sŵn, Suns and Pop Montreal. Sharing the stage with acclaimed artists like Melin Melyn, Another Sky, Wooze, Songhoy Blues and Tricot, they leave a lasting impact on fans and fellow musicians alike.

With undeniable talent, dedication to their craft, and a growing international presence, HMS Morris offer innovative and forward-thinking pop music that resonates with listeners far and wide. Their latest album, ‘Dollar Lizard Money Zombie,‘ marks a new era for the band, featuring a diverse range of sounds and an infectious energy that will undoubtedly captivate audiences on a whole new level.

The band have just shared their latest single taken from the album, titled “Balls” – listen below:

What becomes very obvious from the vocal entry into this sonically obliterating creation, HMS Morris captures this immense energy that just exudes from every element of their talents, their textures and their harmonic placement. This energy allures the audience and keeps them fixated on the intense structure that surrounds them. HMS Morris are unlike any other, an outfit that dazzles on every level, everything they deliver is so varied, so bright and complex. We’ve always been blown away by the magnitude of the vision of this outfit. There is a sense of both bold and fearless as this band unapologetically craft some of the most mammoth and chaotic, yet melodious arrangements and “Balls” is exactly that.

HMS Morris continues to produce such invigorating and innovative landscapes, always evolving, always covering this wealth of progression and experimentation and the outfit effortlessly captures their compelling and vivid energy through all of their recorded efforts.

HMS Morris can on one hand create something so evocative and moving, intimate and sincere, to suddenly move to these big disco-inspired cosmic compositions. The musicians have no boundaries and that passion and progression as a unit is what excels this outfit to another level. This is just one of the many reasons their forthcoming album will be a joyous and timeless collection.

To celebrate the forthcoming release you can catch the band live at the following dates. HMS Morris will perform Dollar Lizard Money Zombie in full at the Cultvr launch on their album release day 15th September. There will be 360 dome visuals, dancers and a paper house. Plus later they embark on their DLMZ Tour , which will run from mid-October to mid-November.
