TOP INDUSTRY NAMES COME TO HEREFORD FOR HCA MUSIC WEEK
Professionals from across the music industry will be sharing their expertise with students at Hereford College of Arts (HCA) as part of HCA Music Week, taking place from Tuesday 1st – Friday 4th March at the home of the College’s University-level courses, College Road Campus.
Speakers include Kasabian Drummer Ian Matthews; Songwriter Charlie Dore, who has written music for artists including George Harrison, Tina Turner, Celine Dion and UB40; Guitarist Ryan Haberfield, who is currently on tour with Jessie J; and Jon Jackson, a radio producer and presenter who grew up in Herefordshire. They will be running workshops and delivering lectures to current BA (Hons) Popular Music and Extended Diploma in Music students at the College, as well as potential students interested in the Degree course.
In addition to the sessions at College Road, there will be two gigs; on Tuesday 1st March, Charlie Dore will perform at De Koffie Pot at Hereford’s Left Bank, and on Friday 4th March, HCA students will perform at the College’s Folly Arts Theatre at the Folly Lane Campus.
“HCA Music week will offer musicians great opportunities to help shape their careers in the industry,” said David Bebbington, BA (Hons) Popular Music Course Leader. “We are delighted that so many fantastic industry experts will be joining us across the week, and we’re looking forward to welcoming people into the College; students will get a real taster of life at HCA and the kind of people they can work with if they study with us.”
