BNM returns in late April for five nights and days of rolling concerts, performances, audiovisual works and installations in exhibition spaces, venues, concert halls and unusual locations around the city, traversing the outer realms of contemporary music, sound and visual arts.
The sixth edition welcomes artists from four continents, showcasing new work and collaborations across borders and disciplines, taking in contemporary ensemble music, club futurism, improvised rock, spectral jazz, bagpipe drone, electronic composition, expanded cinema, subbass experimentation, offgrid installations, hypnotic acapella, and more.
The biennial Bristol New Music was founded in 2014 by concert halls Bristol Beacon and St George’s Bristol, art spaces Arnolfini and Spike Island, and Bristol University’s Department of Music, and now involves a number of independent arts and music venues.
The full programme of artists, performances, talks, workshops, socials and installations will be announced at the end of January, along with day and event tickets.
BNM takes place across venues including Arnolfini, Bristol Beacon, Spike Island, St George’s Bristol, Strange Brew, The Cube, Kit Form and Victoria Rooms.
Limited early bird all-events passes are now on sale, including low income and supporter tiers.
