Domino are thrilled to introduce the Domino Vault, a new archival imprint dedicated to unearthing and reissuing rare treasures from the Domino catalogue.
The Domino Vault will shine a spotlight on long out-of-print cult classics, offering limited-edition represses of some of the label’s most elusive and underappreciated gems. Each release will be a carefully curated, one-off pressing and a chance to rediscover forgotten favourites and celebrate the hidden corners of the catalogue.
The reissue of The Amazing Snakeheads visceral debut, Amphetamine Ballads, marks the first release in the Domino Vault archival series – blowing the dust off of cult classics from the Domino catalogue and reintroducing them to a new audience. The reissue will be released on 180g heavyweight vinyl in a limited 200 hand-numbered run on October 10th and is available to pre-order on Dom Mart now.
In 2014, The Amazing Snakeheads came snarling out of Glasgow’s DIY scene and onto the national stage with their raucous, no-holds-barred blend of garage punk, rockabilly swagger, and exorcistic live performances.
After years spent honing their craft out of sight, the Snakeheads erupted fully formed into the Glasgow underground, swiftly earning a fearsome reputation – thanks in no small part to the feral magnetism of frontman Dale Barclay. The trio was completed by William Coombe on bass and Jordon Hutchinson on drums.
The band imploded just as quickly (and explosively) as the shows that made their name. Longevity was never the aim; the Snakeheads went straight for the gut, and they didn’t miss. Barclay sadly passed away in 2018, but not before delivering this masterclass in garage punk.
