Louis O’Hara Releases New Single “Just Grand”

Pembroke Dock songwriter Louis O’Hara recently joined the sublime family of Libertino and now the artist has released his new single “Just Grand”. The new single is a stunning and intimate composition that captures the importance of this artist to his established fans, whilst cementing a new wave of listeners who are ready to embrace the tender tones.
Written in memory of his late grandfather, “Just Grand” captures the quiet grace of parting and remembrance. Sparse and heartfelt, the track is built around delicate guitar, piano, and the warmth of group vocals reminiscent of hymns sung at a funeral service. A field recording from O’Hara’s own garden in Pembroke Dock weaves through the song, grounding its reflection on loss in the natural rhythms of home.
“The song was written from my perspective of the last time I got to see my Grandad before he passed away,” Louis explains. “In it, I’m reminding him that everything is going to be okay after he’s gone – that though he will no longer be here physically, he will always be in spirit.”
The track commences with a gentle organic soundbite, threading in the peaceful countryside bird songs and tones which blend with the gentle guitar notes picking this delicate yet addictive rhythm. For those that have just discovered Louis, the West-Wales musician blends tender folk sensibilities with poetic lyricism and chamber-pop textures. His songs draw from memory, place, and quiet emotional truths, often described as nostalgic, emotional, and intimate.
After years living in Bristol and London, O’Hara returned to West Wales in 2024, a move that inspired the writing of his forthcoming debut album (due late 2025). Written between a cherished nylon-string guitar and his grandmother’s piano, the record reflects on themes of loss, love, and friendship, arranged with his band His Burley Chassis and recorded in Spain with producer James Trevascus (Billy Nomates, Young Fathers, Nick Cave & Warren Ellis). His earlier EPs Clay (2024) and Pass The Blame (2025) established him as one of Wales’ most affecting new voices, drawing comparisons to Leonard Cohen, Sparklehorse, and Paul McCartney.
