Cowgirl Announce Sophomore Album Release “Cut Offs” Due 9th August via Safe Suburban Home Records

Share Lead Single “Fading Lights”

Ending the working week with the most exciting album announcement. Once again Safe Suburban Home Records has delivered joy with news of a forthcoming album from the talented Cowgirl. Ever since we were first introduced to the sound of Cowgirl, at least 4 years ago, we’ve been hooked on their vision, talent and array of single releases on cassette, to their 2021 debut self-titled album release on vinyl.

Today, Cowgirl details their upcoming sophomore album “Cut Offs’, a 7-track album that we already know is destined to shape 2024. The album is due out 9th August on Safe Suburban and will be available on streaming services, vinyl and CD.

Cowgirl are described as running a conveyor-belt of future classics; their well-crafted melodies wrapped in walls of wailing guitar fuzz. Running the gamut of garage rock to power pop, Cowgirl’s music shimmers with an inherent pop shine. The band are also renowned for their explosive live shows and over the last few years have shared the bill with The Flamin’ Groovies, King Khan & The Shrines, The Sadies, Mozart Estate, Kelley Stoltz and Tess Park.

Heading into the studio, Cowgirl have recorded again with Euan Hinshelwood (Cate Le Bon/A. Savage/Devendra Banhart) at Vacant TV studios in London and tracked straight to tape in one weekend.

Now the outfit shares their lead single “Fading Lights“, a blazing composition that perfectly captures that Cowgirl magic and installs anticipated excitement for the album.

The new single flirts into focus immediately, drawing the listener into this complex landscape of fuzzy and angular guitars, rolling drum shuffles and crisp cymbals. Whilst this overdrive and gritty bass is layering the soundscape, the brighter lead guitar oozes this buoyancy across the driving passages. Fusing lo-fi elements and angular textures this atmosphere asserts itself as an intricately layered utopia. A 3 minute marvel that emits countless hooks and this elevated progression.

Through the immersive vocal harmonies and the backing harmonies that add further amplification to the words and the movement, Cowgirl channels affection and this captivating lasting influence. The harmonic tones, whilst brooding and distinctly projecting this melancholic theme into the voyage, they are delivered with this upbeat feel and provide this conflicting contrast to the foundations of the emotion that runs from start to finish. This lighter air funnels further feelings into the composition and accelerates the addictive qualities of this track.

Cowgirl crafts this infectious soundscape that clearly captures the vivid energy of each musician crushing their field and bringing the raucous rhythms to life.
