A Stone’s Throw Festival Announces Second Wave of Acts Including White Lies, Another Sky, Vistas & More | Opening Party May 24th – Full Festival May 25th

SECOND WAVE OF ACTS ANNOUNCED INCLUDING WHITE LIES (Friday night opening party), VISTAS, ANOTHER SKY, ALIEN CHICKS & FLAT PARTY

JOINING SUNDARA KARMA, PIP BLOM, BILK, DOWNTOWN KAYOTO, OPUS KINK, LIP FILLER & MORE ON THE BILL 

A Stone’s Throw Festival has today revealed the second wave of acts for their biggest event to date, taking place on Saturday May 25th 2024 within two buzzing towns along Newcastle’s stunning coastline.

Indie specialists White Lies will be kicking off the weekend on Friday May 24th with an eagerly anticipated opening party at The Exchange 1856, North Shields, whilst the likes of Scottish trio Vistas, local favourites Another Sky and London risers Alien Chicks will all be joining Saturday’s bill. 

Headlined by indie powerhouses Sundara Karma, the summer lineup also features Amsterdam trio Pip Blom, punk-infused sensations Bilk, DIY pop newcomer Downtown Kayoto and enigmatic Brighton sextet Opus Kink, alongside a host of the North East’s finest talent.

Speaking ahead of their opening party performance, White Lies explained: “We’re so excited to be headlining the opening of A Stone’s Throw Festival this year, there’s an amazing lineup and we always feel at home in Newcastle, see you there!”

Debuting in May 2022, A Stone’s Throw’s inaugural event featured over 60 artists, swarming Newcastle’s coastline and forming the first North East coastal music trail between Tynemouth and North Shields, with the likes of Sam TompkinsBerwyn, Lauren Hibberd and Heidi Curtis all on the bill. Transforming coffee shops, event warehouses, CBD dispensaries, and working men’s clubs into fully fledged music venues for the day, the festival also collaborated with Go North East and North Tyneside Council to provide an open top double decker bus service, transporting wristband holders from venue to venue, whilst live brass bands performed on the upper deck.

With 9 venues taking part this year, encompassingan array of independent bars, venues and unique spacesand trusted local bus service Go North East once again supplying open top buses and a 7 minute round trip between, A Stone’s Throw is primed to provide another refreshing, unique and memorable music festival experience.

Detailing their second major lineup announcement, founder Anthony Thompson (Notion Live Events) revealed: “It’s been a real pleasure curating this line up and we’re delighted to be bringing some of the best UK touring acts to North Tyneside this Summer! 

We’ve also bulked out the event by adding an opening party on the Friday night ft. special guests White Lies. This is something we’ve been eager to do for a while and we’re over the moon to be bringing such an amazing band to North Shields.
