Nation of Language Announce U.S. Tour Dates w/ Beach Fossils

Tickets on General Sale Friday, Feb 2 at 10 AM Local Time

Nation of Language have announced a U.S. tour with Beach Fossils. The tour, which travels through the Midwest and South, comes in support of both bands’ 2023 album releases with Nation of Language’s Strange Disciple going on to be named Rough Trade’s #1 Album of The Year for 2023.

Surrounding the dates with Beach Fossils, Nation of Language will perform three sold out headline shows at Bowery Ballroom, New York on March 2, 3 and 4 as well as a date at the Royale, Boston on May 30. They will then co-headline Field Day Festival before returning to Europe for All Points East, London and MEO Kalorama, Lisbon – tickets on sale for all dates HERE.

Since the release of Strange Disciple in September 2023, Nation of Language have further reaffirmed themselves as “the best synth-pop band in the world” (Paste), from topping Rough Trade’s Top 100 Albums of 2023 to selling out nearly every one of their US, EU and UK tour dates last year, to dominating the radio waves at KCRW (listener-voted Top 10 album), KEXP (listener-voted #2 AOTY), SiriusXMU (“Sole Obsession” Top 10 SOTY, “Weak In Your Light” added to Alt Nation) and dozens of college stations across the country, debuting on their first-ever Billboard charts, and earning praise from Pitchfork, Vice, LA Times and many others listed below. Alongside acclaim in North America, Nation of Language landed the #1 Rock Album at Tower Records (Japan), AOTY support from Clash (UK), 3 songs on RadioEins Top 100 of 2023 (Germany) as well as further AOTY support at Le Monde and Télérama (France), Avopolis (Greece) and ParcoParanoico (Italy).

Strange Disciple explores themes of hopeless devotion, toxic infatuation, outrage-baiting news cycles, the battle of agony vs. ecstasy and more across highlights like “Sole Obsession,” “Weak In Your Light,” “Sightseer” and “Too Much, Enough,” which arrived with a music video starring Westworld‘s Jimmi Simpson, Reggie Watts, Kevin Morby, Tomberlin, Adam Green and more. “Nation of Language have never released a bad song,” says AV Club. “And with this record, that streak remains blessedly unbroken.” Read more about the making of the album, produced by Nick Millhiser (Holy Ghost!, LCD Soundsystem), in Paste’s recent Cover Story, featuring an in-depth interview from bandmates and spouses Ian Devaney and Aidan Noell.
