Announce debut EP, TITLE TRACK, out 3 November 2023 via Transgressive
UNIVERSITY, who describe their sound as “like getting punched in the face by a gorilla but then being cuddled afterwards”, announce their debut EP release, Title Track, on 3rd November 2023 via Transgressive.
Now they share their latest single, the EP’s second track, “Egypt Tune”, following the release of the immense “Notre Dame Made Out Of Flesh” last month.
Speaking about the single, the band said, “The year is 3099 bce, while searching for “the answer“, University stumbled across something that closely resembled it. This song is not it.”

There is this real exhilarating appeal amongst the raucous traits of this band. Their immense energy is captured with clarity and becomes this staple attribute to their dynamic new release “Egypt Tune”. The new track brings their gritty tones, buoyant bass notes, scratchy notes, unpredictable stop-starts and this commanding drum shuffle and unites all of these attributes to give this alluring and at times almost obnoxious creation. University are at their best when they bounce off one another and get to fill this space with their experimental traits and heavy passages.
There is a sense of aggression piercing through the adrenaline-filled intensity into the volatile atmosphere. Their first single they released confirmed this outfit is daring, bold and nothing short of brilliant. Another explosive and mammoth ensemble follows suit.
UNIVERSITY recently played standout shows at The Great Escape, Green Man, End Of The Road and Manchester Psych Festival. Catch them live next at Left of the Dial (NL, 20-21st Oct) and Pitchfork Paris (FR, 11 Nov). The band has also been confirmed to play some dates with The Murder Capital on their EU tour.
