two blinks, i love you Returns With New Single ‘sentiment’

Out Now via Heist or Hit

two blinks, i love you releases new single ‘sentiment’ today via Heist or Hit.  It’s described as a lo-fi Pixies-esque grunge anthem, that provides a gnarlier flipside to the naturalistic rootsy elements of his debut EP released earlier this year. Whilst the distortion is dialled up, it still falls in line with two blinks’ stated aim of operating within a more limited and raw space instrumentally.

Speaking on the evolution in approach on this track, and the chaotic accompanying video, he states:

“I think this song is an introduction to the other side of the fence, and on this side in particular the grass is a bit charred and unkept, maybe a few spots of devil poo there too . The video also reflects that I think the devil ‘Ronnie’ – who is the main iconography of the band – is kind of unassuming and sweet, but the devil imagery in this video is almost the complete opposite. The devils in this video look kind of disgusting and act like dopes, and have questionable morals I imagine. Definitely a far cry from Ronnie.”

two blinks, i love you releases this track that immediately offers this blazing atmosphere. The melody of this release is intoxicating, but you would expect nothing less from this vital artist. The power of this release just encapsulates how visionary two blinks, i love you really is. This ardent arrangement emits this striking effect, the gritty world grows and the guitar whails alongside the vocal harmonies, whilst the instrumentation offers a complex take where explosive meets melodic, and the result is this mammoth track. The blistering energy consumes the journey and presents this ultimate hook, the audience in awe when the track ends and their world brings in silence once more.

two blinks, i love you springs from the prolific mind of Liverpool-based songwriter Liam Brown, previously known for his work as pizzagirl – where he built zany, aesthetic bedroom-pop worlds across two albums admired by VICE (Noisey), The Guardian, The FADER, PASTE, BBC 6Music and Radio 1, and more.

At the end of last year he emerged in this new guise with the austere but emotive debut single ‘i love you’, which heralded his debut project ep 1 – which also featured the singles ‘carnegie hall’, ‘birthday surprise’ and ‘loveseat’.
