Algiers are making a deluxe edition of their new album, ‘SHOOK,’ available digitally. The expanded album features six additional tracks – b-sides, alternate versions, and live cuts recorded with an expanded lineup at December’s one-off “SHOOK WORLD” concert in NYC. Listen to the unreleased track “Spook” below-

You expect nothing less than greatness when Algiers drop new music. This new track delivers on its immense qualities and provides this intoxicating atmosphere and alluring tension that grows through piercing textures and stirring modulation. The building layers of vocal harmonies and the bright percussive hits lead to this absolute triumph.

Released in February, ‘SHOOK’ was championed by critics. “Throughout the album, Algiers lashes out at injustice, exults in its sonic mastery and insists on the life forces of solidarity and physical impact,” wrote the New York Times. “‘Shook’ is an era-defining post-punk masterpiece,” wrote AfroPunk.

The band is currently on tour in Europe and will perform at Brooklyn’s Pioneer Works on December 16th. Find a complete itinerary below.

“The world got shook.” So Algiers formed a crew. The band—who have built one of the most exciting catalogs and cult followings of recent years gathered a posse of like-minded artists to create their fourth album, ‘SHOOK’. Stacked with guests spanning icons through to future stars, the record is a lightning rod for an elusive yet universal energy and feeling. A plurality of voices; a spiritual and geographical homecoming; a strategy of communion in a burning world; the story of an end of a relationship; an Atlanta front porch summer party. Ultimately, it’s a 17-track set of the most mind-expanding and thrilling music that you are likely to hear anytime soon.
