Temps announce “After Party” EP due out 8th September via Bella Union
Share lead track “firstbirthday”
Following the success of their acclaimed debut album, PARTY GATOR PURGATORY, released in May via Bella Union, James Acaster’s international musical collective Temps today announce the release of the companion AFTER PARTY EP. The EP features 5 tracks recorded in the same sessions as the album but with a distinct and separate identity. To accompany the announcement Temps have shared the track “firstbirthday” which features guest appearances from NNAMDÏ and Public Speaking.
Commenting on the EP James Acaster says: “The AFTER PARTY EP consists of five songs that felt a little more menacing than the ten on PARTY GATOR PURGATORY. I love them just as much and they definitely exist in the same universe as the album tracks, they just felt like their own chapter and presented themselves as such as we were making them. Also I wanted to keep the album under an hour long so separated the spookier tracks and made a companion EP out of them. This is the end of the Party Gator’s story, its own personal katabasis. Here we find out what its resurrection truly meant and look on sympathetically as the gator comes to accept its situation.”
Temps has also announced news of a number of record shop instore appearances involving playbacks of the album followed by James Acaster in conversation talking about the project and signing albums. These include appearances in Bristol and Leeds in October as well Nottingham in March next year. Dates and info below:
