Plantoid sign to Bella Union and release new single and video “Dog’s Life”
Upcoming live dates in London and Brighton
Bella Union are thrilled to introduce new signings Plantoid who share their first single “Dog’s Life” for the label. The label is continuing to grow and adding such a broad range of talent to its roster. Plantoid are a psych-rock-jazz four-piece hailing from Brighton, their frenetic and spacey new single will surely serve as a mind-expanding calling card. The lead single from their upcoming debut LP due 2024 on Bella Union, the track marries their love of ‘60s psychedelia, ‘70s prog, and ‘80s post-rock into a lush, layered epic that expertly showcases their diverse tastes and musicianship. “Dog’s Life” comes accompanied by a hypnotic and visually striking video created by Digistitcher.
Amid a driving, staccato guitar line and elastic bass melodies, lead singer/guitarist Chloe Spence’s vocals beam through the ether like the midway point between an angel and an alien. Inspired by Chloe’s dog Poppy and her hot-and-cold temperament, the band – which includes Thomas Coyne on guitar, Bernardo Larisch on bass, and Louis Bradshaw on drums – wanted to create a mood-swing of a sonic voyage that pings from blissfully elated to shockingly heavy. Released now, “Dog’s Life” is set to position Plantoid as one of the UK’s most singular and inventive rock acts.
This dark and piercing tone emerges, emitting this devious scale and the atmosphere shifts with each attribute that joins the soundscape. Experimental sharp passages and captivating loops. This developing atmosphere provides an expressive and gritty destination where intricate stop-starts and this unpredictable journey showcase this captivating complexity. Throughout the challenging course, the delicate vocal harmonies simply soar, injecting affection and this courageous melodic range into the release. The end results are intoxicating. The energy simply dazzles throughout.
