Share new single “Circles”
Album ‘The Good Life’ out August 11th on BMG
European live dates this Autumn

With a few days left until the release of their captivating new album, today My Ugly Clementine share a third cut from the record, entitled “Circles”‘The Good Life’ will be released on the 11th of August via BMG and the band tour Europe later this year, including a London show at The Old Blue Last on October 8th.
Following the bouncing grunge-pop of “Are You In”, the jubilant appreciation of doing sweet-FA, “Feet Up,” and the laid-back, summery ode to self-acceptance “Would Do It Again”, now they drop another dose of riffy melodic hooks and addictive vocal harmonies with latest single “Circles”.

The band comment on the single, saying: “Circles is an ode to the chosen family, a song celebrating friendship, playing together in a band and the comfort of having people around whom you can rely on.”

Video may cause motion sickness:

Their raucous efforts are still found in this track but My Ugly Clementine portrays their more sincere side. Equally captivating but this release brings this raw movement to the forefront of the release. Whilst the gritty guitar tones and scratchy strokes shift through and the dynamic drum shuffles capture their immense intensity, the intimate vocal harmonies cut through the soundscape with this emotive edge.

My Ugly Clementine comprises of three visionaries from Vienna’s thriving music scene – Sophie Lindinger, Mira Lu Kovacs, and Nastasja Ronck. While Lindinger is also part of the acclaimed pop duo Leyya, guitarist Mira Lu Kovacs is a successful solo musician and songwriter and Ronck also plays with Austrian indie heavy-weights Sharktank. Following the 2020 release of My Ugly Clementine’s debut album ‘Vitamin C,’ the band have performed at various renowned festivals across Europe including Primavera Sound (Barcelona), Reeperbahn Festival (Hamburg), and Eurosonic (Groningen), as well as winning the prestigious Impala Album of the Year Award. More recently, My Ugly Clementine opened as Special Guests during Parcel’s European Tour 2022.

Most of the recording sessions for new album ‘The Good Life’ took place in a remote house somewhere in the Beskid Mountains, far away from civilization. “All we did was cook, write, and record.” There were rumours of bears in that part of the Czech Republic. “The house was located on a slope. It was the last in a line of buildings, so the giant woods opened up right next to it. Standing on that threshold was quite a special feeling.”

The album title is full of ambiguities: On the one hand, it’s about the band as a collective, providing community, about the group as a means to get closer to that Good Life, a joint effort to make dreams and visions come true. Yet, on the other hand, it’s also about new phases of life unfolding, about things that have changed for the better – moving on.

‘The Good Life’ will be released on August 11th via BMG.
