Fat Dog Release Debut Single “King of the Slugs”

Upcoming UK live tour

Hailing from south London, the band’s formidable and high-octane live shows have garnered them a boisterous and fervent fan base enraptured by frontman Joe Love. With support slots for Viagra Boys, Shame and Yard Act plus international shows under their collar, Fat Dog have previously sold-out London’s Corsica Studios.
Fat Dog are also ready to unleash their debut single “King of the Slugs”. Co-produced by Joe Love and James Ford, Fat Dog have delivered a 7-minute beast that traverses genres to harness the wild energy of their live shows.

Prepare to be blown away by the devious sounds of “King of the Slugs”. The magnitude of this arrangement is something else. Fat Dog proves they can deliver by dropping one of the most adventurous and brooding, vivid tracks of the year. This is a colossal creation on all levels, immediately entrancing the audience with the fierce depth of this immense composition. It’s heavy, raucous, aggressive and melodic. Every carefully placed texture and layer adds to the complexity of the soundscape and further lures the listener into the midst of this voyage. The tonal choices that breeze through the creation give off this almost mythical influence. The composition as intense as it is, stirs this inquisitive essence as this unpredictable movement emerges.

Equal parts explosive as it is euphoric, this arrangement shifts through these intoxicating peaks and moves towards this volatile phase before the energy alternates once more and showcases the weight of the power of this band, colliding to deliver a heightened performance. A flawless release.

The new video featured above is directed by Dylan Coates, the video which sees Love being dutifully crowned, opens a window into Fat Dog’s mysterious and unsettling world.

A 12” of “King of the Slugs” backed by its instrumental is available to pre-order with release on 20th October. Pre-order: Dom Mart
