PUBLIC BODY share new single ‘Way, No Way’

Debut LP ‘Big Mess’ arriving June 9th via FATCAT RECORDS

Brighton’s frenetic art-rockers Public Body share brand new single ‘Way, No Way’, out now, marking the third reveal from the band’s debut LP ‘Big Mess’, out on June 9th via FatCat Records.

Joylessly gorging on TV (‘Way, No Way’), procrastinating (‘Break From Life’) and ‘saying the wrong thing’ (‘No Constraint’) are all vividly, gleefully skewered tracks from their upcoming record. Repetition and agitation are prized in the music of ‘Big Mess’its world built from hypnotically repetitive bass-grooves, spidery guitar lines and violent synth stabs.

Detailing their latest effort, frontman Seb Gilmore explained: “I wrote ‘Way, No Way’ when I was isolating with covid for the first time. I decided to rewatch Friends, and cringed out at how tragic the men are. Being stuck at home reminded me of when I was younger living in a rural area with no transport links. Back then I also stayed home and binge watched TV and as result of my lack of movement, got really fat. The song title is actually the name of Ross and Chandler’s high school band. I thought it was a killer name so robbed it”.

Public Body continues to excite with the outfits’ latest release, immediately introducing the audience to this ferocious landscape, containing erratic signatures and intensive peaks, and their blunt yet charismatic lyrics. The energy this band conveys is remarkable, the ability to lace their vision with this immense hook and bounce that energy into the landscape and then onto the audience. Public Body just captures everyday life into their buoyant arrangements, another track so easy to marvel at the range of compelling traits this band explores and infuses into their work.

Public Body’s ‘Way, No Way’ is out now via FatCat Records and available on all digital platforms.
