LOUD WOMEN FEST Announce 2023 Line-Up Details

LOUD WOMEN FEST returns for a blazing 2023 event. The festival is set to showcase the best new female and non-binary talent rising up from the grassroots and alternative music scene. And their previous festival’s have been legendary, so now is the time to save the date and grab your tickets. The 2023 event will take place 16 Sept 2023 in London.

Now in its 7th iteration, the not-for-profit Fest is firmly established as the alternative music women’s “pipeline” between grassroots and bigger festival stages – the same pipeline Glastonbury’s Emily Eavis recently said needed support in order to develop the female headliners of the future.

LOUD WOMEN Fest has been hailed as “the antidote to male-heavy festival lineups” (NME), and “if you’ve ever looked at a festival lineup and wondered where all the women are, they’re playing LOUD WOMEN Fest” (Kerrang!)

Applications to play the event have been pouring in for 6 months – nearly 1,000 applications artists around the globe. The first lineup announcement comes today, with a few more surprises yet to come:

Breezy (Germany)

Hipersona (Turkey)

ShyGodwin (USA)

The Dollheads (USA)

Vernon Jane (Ireland)

I, Doris

Samba Sisters

Shallow Honey

The Empty Page

Where We Sleep

The one-day showcase event will be held on 16 September at London’s Rich Mix, over several stages. For the first time, the event is all ages – allowing parents to bring children and teens along to be inspired by female-powered bands.

LOUD WOMEN’s founder, musician and lecturer Cassie Fox, said:

There’s absolutely no excuse in 2023 for festivals not to be booking at least 50% female musicians. Gender equality makes all areas of life more balanced and harmonious – especially in music!

With activism and campaigning at LOUD WOMEN’s heart alongside the music, the Fest will also be attended by speakers

  • Safe Gigs for Women
  • Bloody Good Period
  • Janey Starling – Level Up
  • Alliance for Choice (Northern Ireland)
  • Janine Booth
