Tom Emlyn Shares New Single and Video For “Broken Mirror” & Announces New Album “Return Journey Revisited: Scaredycat Vol 15” out May 5th

Last month we shared a stunning new single release from Swansea-born songwriter Tom Emlyn. A name that so many are familiar with. Now, Tom has announced details of his forthcoming new album “Return Journey Revisited: Scaredycat Vol 15” which is set for release on May 5th.

The album was recorded in 2018 and mastered by Charlie Francis (R.E.M., Pixies). Described as a treasure trove of recordings dating back to 2016, 2017, and 2018, these songs offer a window into the sheer scope of Emlyn’s songwriting talent, his captivating songs uniquely exploring the particularity and peculiarity of human experience. 

The new album will feature the latest single “Broken Mirror“, which has just been shared alongside a new video. Watch below.

Tom’s emotive storytelling comes to life through the vision, the musician carries this sincerity through the ambiance, resonating from the lyrics, and the delicate but expressive vocal harmonies. The new single is truly effective, it will move the listener as they follow this stirring journey, easy to embrace whilst Emlyn’s illustrious world challenges the audience to hear the words and hold onto those feelings. The melodies of this arrangement move with this clear ease, buttering up the direction to alternate with this cinematic charm.

The depth of the songwriting mirrors that of an influential icon deep in their vast career, yet it feels so effortless and fresh from Tom. The weight of the words swirling through the complex landscape propels Tom into essential status.
