Pip Blom Shares New Single “Tiger”

Out Now via Heavenly

Amsterdam’s Pip Blom have shared a brand-new track, “Tiger”, taken from the sessions with Dave McCracken for their forthcoming, as-yet unannounced, third album for Heavenly Recordings.

As ever with Pip Blom, their knack for colorful and vivacious pop shines through on the new track, however, ‘Tiger’ marks a departure in sound, crafted on computers and featuring synths, it hints at what’s to come on the new album.

Talking about the track, Pip said: “It’s my favorite song off the album, and quite different to what we’ve done before. I don’t want to sound arrogant, and I find these things difficult to say about my own tracks, but it’s quite an earworm! It’s good to surprise people with a new sound, and though it still sounds like a Pip Blom track because it has my voice on it and the melodies I tend to write, it feels like it’s from a different source. I wanted to be bold and do something new.”

Pip Blom embraces this edgier vision, explosive at its core. The ardent rhythms loop and grow with intensity throughout, experimental attributes aligning to create this complex and hard-hitting ensemble. Still allowing the power of Pip’s impressive vocal range to explore such a wealth of notes and sing this alluring lyrical theme. Pip Blom delivers this euphoric, blistering pop sophistication to their impressive journey.

Fans have always been addicted to the expressive ensembles that Pip Blom has created over the years, but this new track fires the outfit in a new direction, still keeping its addictive qualities but proudly showing this outfit’s expansion, the musicians’ progression and collective this fearless take to move their craft to cover more ground.

Releasing their debut album, Boat, for Heavenly Recordings in 2019, the Dutch 4-piece set about touring relentlessly, building a reputation for effortless song-writing and feel-good-chorus’ at both their own headline shows, support slots with the likes of Franz Ferdinand and Bloc Party and festivals across Europe, including a slot on Glastonbury’s John Peel stage in 2020.

Second album Welcome Break, appeared in 2021, in part inspired by the band’s life on the road over the previous couple of years. Very much picking up where Boat had left off, it saw them make significant steps – a U.K. headline tour culminated in a sold-out show at London’s Electric Ballroom and most recently in February of this year the band played a run of sold-out gigs as part of this year’s Independent Venue Week.
