With their much-anticipated new album Versions Of Us due out 2nd June via Bella Union, Lanterns On The Lake now reveal their epic new single, “String Theory”. With Radiohead’s Philip Selway delivering a bravura performance on drums and vocalist singer Hazel Wilde one of her most powerful vocal turns, the track is arguably the dynamic standout from this career-best album. The track comes accompanied by a visualiser featuring the album’s striking artwork, watch below:

Following the striking release of “The Likes Of Us”, Lanterns On The Lake now share the moving “String Theory“. Dynamically the new single showcases a more elevated composition, captivating from the get-go. The impressive structure delivers a touching journey, a moving melody, and consistent, bright percussive shuffles. The atmosphere develops and meanders into this bold territory, filled with an expressive array of textures and soaring patterns. The depth of the arrangement captures this vast outlook, a world that is filled with this immense range of notes

Lyrically, the composition conveys this almighty abundance of human connection. Pressing on a theme that so many are drawn to, can easily connect with and embrace. Lanterns On The Lake move its audience with such an emotionally charged commitment. This vivid energy of the musicians has been captured in this release with such clarity, that energy is truly infectious.

Commenting on the track singer and songwriter Hazel Wilde says: “String Theory is a song about reflecting on what might have been and might, in some way, still be. It finds beauty and solace in the multiverse theory and the idea that out there somewhere, vibrating on their own frequency, exists another fully realized version of yourself where your story turned out differently.
