Announce Debut EP ‘Muckers’ due May 19th

& Share New Single ‘Happiness’

Bristol post-punk experts Saloon Dion announce debut EP ‘Muckers’, due for release May 19th via Mucker Records, and share newest effort ‘Happiness’ which is streaming below.

The follow-up to frenetic lead single ‘I Don’t Feel’ last month, which garnered praise from the likes of The Independent, DIY Magazine, The New Cue and Rough Trade, Saloon Dion’s latest output delivers on their trademark groove-laden beats and bass riffs, sparking further comparisons to acts such as Beastie Boys and Gang of Four.

Speaking of the release, the rising quintet explained: “This track is ultimately meant to remind people that it’s never too late to change things up and try new things. If your current path is making you unhappy, then sack it off and find a new one!”

Another essential cut from this exhilarating outfit. From the first listen you’ll be blown away by the power of this ensemble and the immense range of addictive qualities, you’ll be hooked on the expressive harmonies and the vivid lyrics, and any listener will be singing back immediately.

The tonal qualities of this release exude such a striking appeal. The blistering guitar tones sweep through, elevated by the dramatic drum shuffles and fierce hits, fixated on the lyrics and compelling vocal range whilst the track explores such dramatic turns, abruptly shifting through this range of rhythmic patterns and ending on the darting break-down and mighty percussive plays, this track is a triumph.

This outfit manages to capture the audience’s attention the second they brave the devouring atmosphere. This outfit has truly honed in on its ability to create ferocious and formidable arrangements. A band that clearly appears to be leagues ahead of their current journey. Utilizing alluring tonality, raucous character, and addictive attributes. There’s a real sense of freedom within the world of Saloon Dion, they channel this fearless and free vision within their work and it bounces from each release they share. Once again the outfit let their authenticity shine, their intelligent anger that ruptures within the melodies, and the impressive atmosphere.

With earlier plaudits from several key indie press champions (NME, So Young, Brooklyn Vegan, Clash, Gigwise), and regular radio spins from BBC 6 Music’s Lauren Laverne/Simone Butler, and BBC Radio 1’s Jack Saunders, Saloon Dion’s profile is certainly building at an impressive rate. On the live front, the band have just completed an acclaimed UK support run alongside Dutch maestros Pip Blom, preceding March dates with Grandmas House and their first ever trip stateside for SXSW (one of the first 26 British acts to be announced).

Saloon Dion’s ‘Happiness’ is out now via Mucker Records and available on all digital platforms here.
