HEALTHYLIVING SHARE VIDEO FOR “DREAM HIVE”

TAKEN FROM DEBUT RECORD SONGS OF ABUNDANCE, PSALMS OF GRIEF – OUT 7TH APRIL

Taken from their upcoming debut album, Songs of Abundance, Psalms of Grief, healthyliving now share a second track; the explosive near-mania of “Dream Hive”. A tripped out video was made with the help of Ana López Gómez. Vocalist Amaya comments on the track and the song;

“Dream Hive is one of the last songs we wrote for the album and one of the most colourful and energetic. We worked with our close friend Ana López Gómez who captured the energy of the song perfectly with a wild and wonderful video!

The song in itself is about toxic positivity inundating our lives and how it hinders personal growth and perpetuates power imbalances. It attempts to capture a false perception of euphoria.”

healthyliving gives off this intoxicating energy, in all of their creations and their vision, this impeccable driving force is captured in their work and allows an instant connection to their audience. The new single takes you on this raw and rough journey, the abrasive tones blaze through the soundscape.

The band unashamedly displays such an edgy side to their aggressive demeanor. The melodic movement sonically lifts the release, aided by the captivating harmonies that flow through the complex structure. The track travels through these far-reaching peaks, and the instrumentation dives into this distinct heaviness and hypes up the colossal intensity that shifts throughout.

healthyliving is the project of long-time collaborators and friends who met through the European underground metal scene – Amaya López-Carromero (Maud the moth), Scott McLean (Falloch, Ashenspire) and Stefan Pötzsch. Having worked on various musical projects together for years, Amaya, Scott’s and Stefan’s artistic and personal connection coalesced organically and fuelled a small transnational collective across Scotland, Spain and Germany.

Songs of Abundance, Psalms of Grief is their concise and direct debut full-length album, funded by Creative Scotland and will be co-released on the 7th April by the band and La Rubia Producciones, followed by a debut live performance at the prestigious Roadburn Festival in Tilburg.

Artistically, the band draws from the beauty and horror of the banal to create a kaleidoscopic and evocative musical world which commutes across genre borders. The album, Songs of Abundance, Psalms of Grief, covers “everyday emotions which are apparently unrelated and mundane” but were chosen for their ability to represent common ground we all share as humans. Indeed, the band themselves describe their music as the soundtrack to “digesting our humanity”, coming to terms with the hopes and fears we all share.

A nocturnal haze of guitar layers lap like mammoth waves, as healthyliving taps into something primal and transfixing with their hypnotic sound. Amaya’s eerie and cosmic vocals sit atop the storm, leaving the listener to find pure human vulnerability and emotion in frequently turbulent and unfettered vocal turns.
