Fearn Releases New Single “Kites (Feat. Rob Quo)”
Discover Fearn. Will Taylor is a UK producer and songwriter who makes stunning, lo-fi pop tracks under the alias, Fearn a new artist destined to be one of your favourites. The artist has just released new single “Kites” which you can hear below.
Taken from the Gaelic word Fearn meaning ‘Alder tree’, the name was chosen because of the association with strength, compassion, and generosity: “Exploring nature and the great outdoors is a huge part of my writing-process. I regularly find inspiration from walks across the hills and valleys of East Sussex. I enjoy the freedom and creativity of collaborating with other artists and include them in most tracks I write. I like to think of Fearn as a community.“
Created in entirely separate rooms during the first lockdown, new single ‘Kites’ is a collaboration with London-based vocalist Rob Quo. The lyrics explore the theme of the past, and how its hazy recollection in the present can sometimes be overwhelming. It concludes with a look forward, hopeful of a time where enough of it has passed that the burden of memory will be eased.
Prepare to be truly moved by the enchanting new single “Kites”. Emotive, intricate, and expressive. With delicate layers and touching lyrics, the combination of harmonies and the immersive atmosphere is simply explosive. Minimalist layers yet crucial to the complexity of the composition, the vast range of emotions that resonate from the harmonies and the words, simply thought-provoking and stirring. Almost like a lullaby that hypnotizes via the rhythms, the lasting effects of this composition are outstanding. The intelligently curated tones that build the structure fuse with the tender melodies, here is an artist bursting with potential and mighty creativity. The choice of tones resonates with such organic attributes that, in turn, create this soft and familiar connection to the landscape.
‘Kites’ is taken from a new EP, due early 2023 alongside UK tour dates.
