Muttering Release New Single “This Is Eden”

Debut Album ‘Great.’ due 9th September via Beth Shalom Records

London-based indie/alt-rock three-piece MUTTERING have released new track ‘This is Eden’; the third track from their debut album ‘Great.’ set for release on 9th September via Beth Shalom Records.

“‘This is Eden’ is about finding comfort in simple things, like watching things change with the seasons, but acknowledging that these beautiful moments are ever harder to find,” says vocalist Chaz Bush on the new track. “Those woods you remember as a child will be a motorway soon. That independent cafe is now a Starbucks. Your favourite craft beer company is owned by Budweiser. Your clothes were made in a sweat shop. We didn’t expect Eden, but there’s got to be more than this…” he adds.

A softer arrangement from Muttering, what starts calmer initially with acoustic notes constructing the intimate atmosphere ultimate shifts throughout the resilient course of this bold creation. The vocal notes join the ambiance and provide this striking force before the fierce and raw powerful drums and electric guitar rhythms rupture into the exploration and alter the intensity and illusion of this piece. Fixated on the immersive qualities of this track, the vocal melodies add this distinct influx of affection to the journey, the foundations of affection securing the influence of this ensemble. Yet again another striking composition from this outfit.

The band’s upcoming debut album ‘Great.’ comes from a place of disparity and frustration. Blessed to live in a country that has so many opportunities but still watching incapable liars lead us to our doom, every opportunity to display empathy and understanding being missed, leaving no real future for the people. ‘Great.’ is about maintaining human connection in a world that feels harsher and lonelier than ever.

The ten new songs explore new territories for the band, getting more poppy, more angular and more direct, whilst maintaining the same timeless indie rock/emo influences that made the band’s debut EP ‘Don’t Think About It’ feel so new and yet so familiar.

All of Muttering’s material is produced, recorded, and mixed by the band’s guitarist Tom Hill at his studio The Bookhouse in SE London and mastered by Dan Coutant at Sun Room Mastering.
