Holy Coves Release New Single “Grey”
Out Now via Yr Wyddfa Records
North Wales Psychedelic Indie band Holy Coves have released their shimmering brand new single ‘Grey’, out now via prolific North Wales Label ‘Yr Wyddfa Records’.
The single follows quickly from the mighty first 2 tracks which were unveiled this year, following on from the successful ‘The Hurt Within’ and ‘Desert Storm’ singles, ‘Grey’ is described as showing off Marsden’s ability to write a killer pop song enhanced by Holy Coves distinct sound, and coupled with a hazy indie pop filter and flourishes of post-punk, ‘Grey’ is a perfect pre-summer single.
The blistering feedback surges into the admirable atmosphere, and the percussion focuses on the hits and brings this surging push into the journey. Fuzzy electric notes resonate with this influx of power and then the distinguished vocal notes join, dynamically shifting the pressure onward. This ensemble is filled with hooks as the audience embraces the driving nature. The lyrics, are intimate, connectable, and rhythmically lasting, delivered with this character that can easily be identified as an indie classic. Harmonic vocal tones and addictive qualities from the impressive range fluctuate throughout. As the arrangement progresses the soaring melodies resonate with this rich and emotive effect, whilst the guitar notes combine raw and raucous textures with contrasting upbeat melodic passages.
Each track Holy Coves have shared, impressively demonstrates their ability to create such huge landscapes covering ample range and influential touches.
Through long time friend and Producer David Wrench, ‘Holy Coves’ were put in touch with Texan Producer Erik Wofford (The Black Angels / Explosions In The Sky) and have built quite a magical working relationship, one where Wofford found himself on Mixing and Mastering duties for the material and certainly contributes to their new sound.
