Sourdough Release New Single “Mind And Body”

Out Now via Vandalism Begins At Home Records

Ending the long first month of a new year, Sourdough released their almighty new single “Mind And Body” which was released January 28th via Vandalism Begins At Home Records. The trio hailing from Luton produces such intoxicating releases with this overwhelming power, their sound defies that of 3 musicians and actually captures that of an outfit double its size.

The new single is the first taste of their highly anticipated debut EP which is due this Summer and based on this single alone, the excitement is at an all-time high. The forthcoming collection is produced by Ben ‘Faz’ Farestvedt, who has overseen radio hits by the hotly-tipped Sarpa Salpa and Low Girl.

Frontman Jacob Kyte says, “Lyrically the song reflects the human condition of which people struggle to help themselves, even if it is detrimental to their own well being.  “I’ve a friend with epilepsy, and he would refuse to take his medication — sometimes people can only be told so many times, even when it’s difficult to witness. It’s something I’ve been guilty of myself.

The line, ‘Stomach aching all the time, there is something inside, it’s trying to take over me’, relates to an issue I had, but I stubbornly wouldn’t get looked at. If you can’t sort yourself out, how can you expect to be of help to someone else? This song echoes those frustrations. Life is a constant battle between the mind and body”.

Sourdough‘s latest single is an explosive ensemble from start to finish, the power of each musician simply ignites as soon as they are united on their journey. If this is your first introduction to Sourdough, you will be amazed by the sheer volume and captivating creations this band creates.

Throughout “Mind And Body” this rolling, vast deep angst pulls the audience into the center of its impressive current. This sonically strenuous ensemble builds and builds and showcases this phenomenal energy that captivates all. The expressive vocal melodies deliver a truly aggressive lyrical path, so clear and so raw. The most savage drum fills keep the intensity heightened throughout as the cutting low end adds this boisterous emphasis to the expressive landscape.

As the journey continues, the single triumphantly transitions into more epic passages with a punk backbone, just when you think the chaos is at maximum, another abrasive layer projects into the far-reaching soundscape. A blazing arrangement with this lasting impression. Sourdough has penned a battle within their creation, twisting that crusade within the lyrics and transferring with ease so the audience embraces that battle throughout this intoxicating experience.
