Releases New Single “Someday I Will Bask In The Sun” Out Now on Dais Records
New Album Due This Spring

European Tour Dates Announced

SRSQ is well on the way to establishing herself as an essential talent, able to synthesise private struggles and sorrows into stirring, redemptive anthems. A singer and musician of elemental force, KennedyAshlyn’s music consists of tumult and triumph, darkest night breaking into brightest dawn, where anguish blurs and becomes acceptance.

She returns with her vibrant and immediate new single, “Someday I Will Bask in the Sun,” announced alongside UK and European tour dates that take in London, Manchester, Glasgow Liverpool and Bristol – details below. The track is an uplifting pop song where soaring shoegaze guitars meet propelling garage drumbeats. Kennedy reveals the track to be “a song of reflection, acceptance, and the possibility of hope. It is about coming to terms with the inevitability of harsh emotional cycles without subscribing to a predication of doom. The song reflects on the perpetuity of turmoil, but embodies the notion of surfing – rather than being pummelled by – an ever crashing wave.”

“Someday I Will Bask in the Sun” was produced by Chris Coady (Beach House, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, TV on the Radio) and is available via Dais Records across all digital platforms.

SRSQ release this emotionally enhanced powerful track. Filled with this raucous and bold driving force, mammoth expressive passages, and the raw lyrics that weave through the growing soundscape. A mighty track on every level, capturing this underlying beauty, the beats escalate and the pull to the intensive instrumentation consumes the listener. The release is a truly almighty journey that you embrace from start to finish.

SRSQ (pronounced seer-skew) is the moniker of Dallas, Texas-based Kennedy Ashlyn. From foundational years as co-founder of visionary shoegaze duo Them Are Us Too (alongside the late, lamented Cash Askew) through her growing body of solo work on Dais RecordsKennedy has steadily honed her multi-octave range and moodswing songcraft into an increasingly potent poetic voice.

“Someday I Will Bask in the Sun’ is a look into what’s in store this year from SRSQ, including her next full-length studio album due this spring.
