Share second single, “Creative Jealousy”

Upcoming live dates with Geese and Katy J Pearson

Following on from their debut ‘Burglar’, buzzy new Speedy Wunderground signings Honeyglaze have shared second single, ‘Creative Jealousy‘.

Creative Jealousy came from the feeling of frustration I had during a creative block“, explains vocalist and guitarist Anouska. “I found myself looking around and feeling unable to live up to the high artistic standard set by my peers, not to mention my own expectations. The only thing I could think to do was to make fun of myself.” Listen below…

Fresh from shows with Wet Leg, Do Nothing and Lounge Society, there’s plenty of time to catch them in London and Bristol this Autumn, including dates with Geese and Katy J Pearson

This off-kilter beat and rhythm emerges and distinguishes this ensemble as this ominous yet experimental piece. At just over 2 minutes, this dynamic creation will captivate you as it runs its quick but expressive course. Intimate lyrics, reflective and oozing this sultry appeal which adds this dramatic attribute to the robust vision. Honeyglaze have this fearless energy that exudes into their arrangments, the new single showcases that complex affection with this sublime charm. A fierce journey that is equal parts intense and volatile.

Born out of lead songwriter Anouska’s un-desire to be a solo-act, Honeyglaze met officially at their first ever rehearsal, just three days ahead of what was to become a near-residency at their favoured ‘The Windmill’, Brixton.

Forming a mere six months ahead of a subsequent eighteen-months of mandatory solitude, Honeyglaze have since been making up for lost time, performing to rammed crowds at Green Man, Live at Leeds, Swn Festival and more.

The South London-based, Haiku-loving trio are comprised of vocalist and guitarist Anouska Sokolow, bassist Tim Curtis, and drummer Yuri Shibuichi. In their own words, they describe Honeyglaze as “the ungodly fusion of 3 humans into a clamouring superorganism. It eats only fish, and demands undistracted and constant worship. FFO Power Rangers, Salvador Dalí”.

Speedy Wunderground’s Pierre Hall says of the signing, “We’re so excited to announce Honeyglaze as our next proper signing to the label. We were blown away as soon as we heard their music, and then furthermore when we met them in person. It’s felt like such a natural partnership and they’ve created something really special. We can’t wait for the world to hear. Be prepared to fall in love.”

It’s safe to say that Honeyglaze are well and truly embodying the concept of ‘Ones to watch’.
