Shares New Single ‘One Last Summer’

Out now via Cosmic Ocean

Brighton-based songwriter Hollow Hand (AKA Max Kinghorn-Mills) has shared the video for new single ‘One Last Summer‘, a concise piece of jangle-pop infused with Beatles’ Revolver-esque riffs, warbling synths & a soaring slide guitar solo.

“‘One Last Summer’ is a memory of a time passed by,” says Max. “a song written for something magical which disappeared as quickly as it came.”

This sense of magical memory is reinforced in the accompanying video, gloriously shot by Max over August with a Super 8 camera.

Hollow Hand captures this proud, classic nostalgia running through every beat and note of the new infectious ensemble. A rich creation fueled by bright and crisp tones and immersive vocal harmonies. This utterly compelling composition just hooks the audience and allows them to be in the centre of this heart-felt and harrowing journey. This honest ’70s shuffle sweeps across the atmosphere whilst the innovative lyrics allow this pure reflective piece to leave a long-lasing impression. Hollow Hand has created this composition filled with countless hooks and this addictive energy.

After releasing, and learning from, two previous albums, 2015’s Ancestral Lands and 2018’s Star Chamber, he was able to gain a better sense of where he wanted to go next musically and hints at how this might take shape on his next LP.

Ancestral Lands is a raw sounding album which I made in the bedroom of a house I rented with other musician friends,” he says. “Star Chamber was recorded at the bottom of a garden in a shed at my Dad’s and was the combined efforts of three very close friends – a huge step up in terms of arrangements and instrumentation.

My next album will be a middle ground between the two – reclaiming the naivety and playful aspects of an earlier time but only really being possible after having spent time collaborating and evolving.”

Hollow Hand will also play The Prince Albert, Brighton on the 8th March with Spencer Cullum.
