APRE Share New Track ‘YOU’

‘A001’ mixtape set for release Feb 1st 2022

Experimental duo APRE share absorbing new cut ‘YOU’ and announce the arrival of nine-track mixtape ‘A001’, set for release February 1st 2022.

APRE are masters at creating these compelling compositions with countless hooks and this all-encompassing energy. Once again they deliver what they preach, this immersive instrumentation with intoxicating energy and lasting vibe. With their latest single, that atmosphere propels this elusive and intoxicating vibe. APRE craft this pop-inspired anthem which at its core embraces this intimate essence, the lyrics, and compelling vocal notes which dazzle amongst the plethora of layers to this release, they bring this honesty to the ensemble which the audience can easily connect with. The addictive qualities leave this remarkable impression and once the ensemble ends, you find yourself needing to hit play and embracing every attribute once more.

The follow-up to breathless lead single ‘All Mine’ out last month, ‘YOU’ showcases further elements of the band’s vast musical armoury, and reinforces why they’ve received so much acclaim throughout the tastemaker community (The Sunday Times, NME, DIY, Dork, Clash, Gigwise, The Line Of Best Fit, Notion) and across the BBC Radio 1 (Jack Saunders, Clara Amfo) and BBC 6 Music (Lauren Laverne, Tom Robinson) airwaves in recent times.

With an array of impressive support slots already ticked off alongside Sam Fender, Friendly Fires and Inhaler, APRE are primed to kick off their own London residency later this month. Focusing on the immersive experience of their upcoming mixtape, the two-piece will be presenting a combination of art installations and live performances, echoing the retro-themed narrative running throughout the forthcoming nine-track release.

Detailing the origins behind ‘You’, lead vocalist Charlie Brown revealed: “This is about the realisation that you have to now live your life without the person who made your life worth living. It questions whether it was the right decision to choose to lose someone so dear to me, and the feeling of being alone. I find the coming and going on different relationships and what they bring to our lives fascinating, as we are all fundamentally plagued by loneliness, it’s part of being human.”
