Manchester artist and songwriter, Francis Lung today shares his new single, “Internet”, quickly following up his new album Miracle that was released to critical acclaim in June this year. “Internet” is a dreamy slice of heartfelt indie-pop with Lung’s exquisite songwriting at its center. As Lung explains, it’s a song that tackles the addictiveness of technology and how it can be all-consuming.

“Internet” portrays Lung in this raw ambition, a truly intimate arrangement. Sweeping tones blend into the alluring atmosphere so gently built and maintained throughout. Shuffling drum beats and heartfelt melody maneuvers this arrangement into the depth of its complex yet commanding journey. Once again Francis Lung creates a track offering pure honesty, captured in the lyrics and delicately relayed with the tender vocal harmonies.

My phone died and I caught my blank expression reflected back at me from the black glass of my phone screen, and it struck me how weird and normalised it is that we spend so much time lost in a virtual world. I think I often write songs to externalise thoughts and “Internet” is a good example of this, I think I was maybe trying to highlight the absurdity of the situation to maybe, you know, help me put my phone down and go outside!”

Francis is on tour this Autumn including playing dates with This Is The Kit and Field Music.
