Shares New Single “Stand Up” Out via Team Talk Records
An acclamation of glowing piano, sparkling synths, spacious percussion and confident vocals. “Stand Up” – premiered this morning on BBC 6 Music as Lauren Laverne’s While You Were Sleeping track – is a powerful new direction from rising London-based talent Pollena with a message that demands attention.
“This year more than ever we’re ready for real change. Stand Up is about giving people the confidence that they need to make that change happen. Don’t just accept things as they are, don’t just go ‘back to normal’. It’s about expecting something better,” says Pollena
Straight away, this impressive mixture of sublime electronic textures emerges and provides this complex soundscape for the ensemble to relish within. The textures emit warmth, vibrance, and a compelling depth to the experimental arrangement, then we embrace the stunning vocal harmonies from Pollena. Reaching various notes within their vocal delivery and showcasing their effortless and broad vocal range. The lyrics add this real tender touch to a track bursting with ambitious beats and gritty soundwaves. Once again Pollena creates this innovative landscape, uniting their softer vocal melodies with the angular attributes, mitigating a peaceful movement against the brash and unpredictable structure.
