The Ghost Of Helags Release New Album “We Came From The Stars”

March 17, 2021

THE GHOST OF HELAGS release their long-awaited debut album: ‘We Came From The Stars’.

12 tracks of slick, stylised dream-pop with a Lynchian sheen, the duo celebrate the album’s release with a remarkable new video for one of its standout moments: “Chemistry”. With shades of cult cinema the likes of Drive or Mulholland Drive, their enigmatic new video was shot with the acclaimed Switch Studio in Berlin.

Paying homage to their cinematic influences, the sleek new video finds the band’s Teresa Woischiski and John Alexander Ericson escaping from Berlin against a backdrop of twilight’s eerie stillness. Cruising through the city in a classic 1991 Jaguar, their journey leads them to the wilds of the Baltic Sea where they face an uncertain destiny.

One of the standout moments of ‘We Came From The Stars’, “Chemistry” follows recent singles including: “Bye Bye Tokyo”, “Parallel” and “Night Summer Waiting”, which have seen the band develop a compelling narrative of travel and escapism that continues through their debut album. With tracks written across the world, from the skies of Japan to the dusky sunsets of Italy and the frost-gripped streets of their Berlin home; ‘We Came From The Stars’ is a transportative listen carved from the journey of a lifetime.

The Ghost of Helags are singer-songwriter and producer duo Teresa Woischiski and John Alexander Ericson. Hailing from Sweden and now located in Berlin, the pairing combine the dream pop sounds of their Scandinavian roots with the electronic nuances inspired by their newfound home and beyond.

Their debut album, ‘We Came From The Stars’ is available to hear on all streaming services now (via Warsaw Recordings).

A bold, creative, and awe-inspiring record that shifts with deeply emotive passages and expressive explorations that deliver these humble moments of intimacy and nostalgia. To sudden disco-beat forcible instrumentations that lift you. The Ghost of Helags covers it all and connects with their audience. An album that proudly showcases this daring journey, breaking down barriers and harnessing such power.
