Gallery 47 Returns With New Single ‘Angel Follows Me Out’

Gallery 47 is the pseudonym of British musician, Jack Peachey. Based in the city of Nottingham, he began to receive coverage in 2010 through BBC Introducing and local publications including Leftlion Magazine and the Nottingham Post. He was selected to play the BBC Introducing Stage at T in the Park Festival in 2011 following the release of his debut album ‘Fate Is The Law’. Since then, he has released 12 genre-spanning albums and a collection of singles, EPs and digital downloads.  In 2013 Gallery 47 was featured as The Guardian’s ‘New Band of the Day’ by journalist Paul Lester. In 2015 Jack signed a 5 year publishing deal with publishers BMG in Berlin following European Tour Dates in support of Paul Weller. His songs have received airplay from the likes of ‘Whispering’ Bob Harris (Radio 2), Tom Robinson (BBC 6music), Dean Jackson (BBC Radio Nottingham), Ally McCrae (Radio 1) and XFM’s John Kennedy. He has played live in support of artists including Ian McCulloch (Echo & The Bunnymen), Heather Nova, Andrew Montgomery (Geneva) and Natalie Duncan. Jack holds an MA in English Literature.

Jack grew up listening to everything from System of a Down and Nirvana through to Joni Mitchell and James Taylor. Radiohead’s ‘The Bends’ was an early favourite from the age of 13 and the song ‘Fake Plastic Trees’ was one of those which encouraged Jack to learn guitar. By the time he began songwriting, he had discovered the early Bob Dylan albums and had fallen for the folk scenes of the 1960s and 1970s.  Between 2016 and 2020 he has worked closely with drummer Gary Judd and more recently with bassist and singer Ben Hellings, both of whom Jack met when attending a show of their band ‘Long Dead Signal’ at Nottingham’s Bodega venue. However, recent album ‘Saturation’ [2020] has shown a return to the minimalist, lyrical folk songwriting of his early years.

‘Angel Follows Me Out’ – Jack Peachey

“Angel follows me out is the first song and only single from Saturation. It was recorded using a single AKG C414 condenser microphone in the middle of the night, when no one was making a sound. The song is about trying to conquer your demons whilst also fearing how bad you’re going to feel if you try.”

For over 5 years we’ve watched the evolvement of this crucial artist, throughout the years there is one constant with Gallery 47 and that is the ability to stir emotions through the intelligent song lyrics crafted. With the sublime new single “Angel Follows Me Out”, we find ourselves hooked on the intricate guitar notes that resonate with importance. As the notes played echo within the soft yet immersive soundscape created, the introduction to the delicate vocal notes becomes the focus. A short composition that covers so much ground, the intricate tendencies force the emotional delivery to grab your full attention. This delicate piece offers such an honest execution that the sincerity conquers the exploration.
