In June 2020 musician, Francis Lung, La Blogotheque, and the My Favourite Elliott Smith Song podcast put together “Everybody Cares” – an Elliott Smith tribute concert raising money for LGBTQ+ rights. Hosted by Francis on La Blogotheque’s Instagram, artists such as Marissa NadlerEVIL and Christian Lee Hutson performed Elliott Smith covers live and encouraged donations from viewers. The event raised over £1500 for LGBTQ+ rights charities AKT, The Audre Lorde Project and GIRES.

In order to keep raising money and awareness for the cause, an “Everybody Cares: An Elliott Smith Compilation” is to be released independently via Bandcamp today, February 15, 2021, featuring covers of Smith’s work provided by Oceanator, EVIL, Martin Courtney (Real Estate), Marissa Nadler, Blaenavon, Francis Lung, Kevin Devine, Christian Lee Hutson, Lionlimb & Keep Dancing Inc. 100% of the proceeds will be given to the aforementioned charities.
