DEATH BY UNGA BUNGA
SHARE NEW TRACK ‘WHITE LIES’
NEW ALBUM ‘HEAVY MALE INSECURITY’ OUT ON 12 FEBRUARY ON JANSEN RECORDS
Norwegian rockers Death By Unga Bunga have shared ‘White Lies’, the last track before the release of their new album ‘Heavy Male Insecurity‘ on 12th February via Jansen Records.
“Being a traveling band you often find yourself telling a polite lie or two about how much we enjoyed your shitty venue, and how we’d love to come back ASAP. It’s about that and that one time someone tried to stab us in Bristol, England.“
This rapacious drum fill starts the track off and then you’re greeted with this biting instrumentation, mighty feedback, and this ardent riff building up the momentum alongside the raw lyrics. Death By Unga Bunga control the fierce intensity of this composition whilst the melodic vocal notes and honest lyrics become an anthemic strength to this loud track. The lyrics seemingly capture the relentless of being on the road, being grateful but still dealing with endless roadblocks.
For over a decade, Death By Unga Bunga have supplied their own blend of punchy rock and roll, joyful power pop, and wavy psychedelia that reels you in and doesn’t let go.
Hailing from Moss, Norway, and taking their name from the title of legendary punk band The Mummies’ 2003 album, the band formed in 2007 after lead singer and guitarist Sebastian Ulstad Olsen held auditions out of his own garage. Since those early days, Olsen, Preben S. Andersen (guitar/keyboards), Stian S. Gulbrandsen (guitar), Even Rolland Pettersen (bass) and Ole S. Nesset (drums) have been doing things their own way, unafraid to evolve and build on the powerhouse sound longtime fans have come to know them for.
