Dead Mammals Set To Release Self Titled Debut Album

Due February 26th 2021 via Trepanation Recordings, UK and Forbidden Place Records, US

Dead Mammals are about to release their self-titled debut album. The noise rock two-piece from Rochester, Medway, UK will release their album on both Forbidden Place Records, US and Trepanation Recordings, UK due February 26th 2021..

Completely written and recorded at home whilst bored during the Covid 19 lockdown the album stemmed from a shared love of late 80’s and early 90’s Alt/Noise rock bands. The songs themselves are described as being taken as thinly veiled portraits of the goings-on within their hometown and local surroundings.

Just a few months between Dead Mammals incredible EP release “Reskin”, the band are back with a phenomenal 10 track album which could be a contender for the heaviest release of 2021. With their self-titled debut, the duo utilise this fierce and abrasive bass beat which obliterates the audience with its gritty tone. Album opener “Bricks” offers this immediate sense of obscure tonality crossed with the antagonized vocal delivery and crucial lyrics which charge the intensity of the exploration.

After you’re greeted with the damning opener, you can sense the pelting instrumentations that will follow. Throughout the record you need to remember this momentous soundscape created and producing this brutal intensity as the journey meanders through each vision, this mighty sound has been created by just two musicians.

“Poor Cow” and “Two Killers” are the shortest arrangements on the record but that power the two convey can still be appreciated in the ferocious ensembles.

This sustaining and enthusiastic boisterous bass action found on the offset of “Desperate Like Me” abruptly showcase the attitude of this raucous composition, immediately addicted to the rapid tempo and atmosphere the lyrics then infuse into the expressive aura. Here the lyrics provide a softer spoken word effort that sits amongst the fuzz that accumulates intently, the lyrics offer a retorical and reflective approach to this dextrious deliverance and allows a change to the flow of the record that came before.

As the record continues to push boundaries, Dead Mammals effortlessly deliver these vicious attributes. The band controls the core brutality of their creations, at times the vocals dynamically alter to take the pressure from the consuming aura, purposely offering a break to the whirlwind of intensive elements. The innovative duo focuses on a full-throttle adventure where they can adjust the seriousness and emit waves of jest into the burly landscape.

Dead Mammals forthcoming album will excite you.
